- Birthdays -

From October through May, the Shaws have at least one birthday every month so we are going through our birthday season right now! Some are only a few days apart which makes the birthday lists appear all over the house so we remember that someone's birthday is right after the current one :-)

Our first birthday of the year; Amy turned 9! She had peppermint bark and Hello Kitty cookies instead of the traditional cake and ice cream :)

And five days later, Justus turned 13! Here he is giving his
speech that the Shaw boys must give on "What It Means to be a Man" when they turn 13.

The Beyers came over later for the donut taste test and dessert. But first, let me explain: In our home there is was an ongoing discussion about whether or not the boys really could tell the difference between Hostess, Little Debbie's, and Enteman's donuts. So we decided to hold a little test - blindfolded - to see how well they knew their donuts and had four criterion:

Smell,

Taste,

Touch and Appearance.

After they were done, we read off their answers and gave the right ones. Chase and Dad are celebrating that they guessed right :)

For the most part they guessed correctly and the case was closed :-) We had a blast watching them and the four contestants had a blast eating and guessing, guessing and eating!

Happy Birthday Justus and Amy! We love you both!
